Ed Overbey comes to The Ledlie Group after a 35-year business career in retail, IT consulting and academia.
For almost 30 of those years, Ed worked at two of Mercantile Stores’ operating divisions, where he held positions ranging from buyer to central division president. He also served as vice president of human resources and management development for the 122-store Mercantile operation.
Ed then became president of a Cincinnati-based IT consulting firm that provided retail and insurance clients with systems support, software development, project management, and disaster recovery. The company was acquired by its largest client in 2001, and Ed remained president until 2003 as part of his transitional duties. He then returned to Nashville to act as a consultant for various businesses and non-profit entities.
Ed was appointed Vice President for Advancement at his alma mater, Spring Hill College, in 2007, after serving as a trustee for 11 years, including vice chairman for three of those years. He previously served as president of the Spring Hill Alumni Association.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Ed holds a B.A. in English from Spring Hill College. He currently serves as a trustee for Pope John Paul II High School in Nashville, where he makes his home with his wife, Fran. Their daughter, Mary Catherine, attends the University of Southern California.
